Abhishek Deshpande is a Managing Director & Head of Commodities Research at NextEra Energy Inc. based in Florida. Before joining NextEra, he was a Vice President and senior leader at ADNOC Group where he was heading the Market Intelligence Group based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Abhishek has had an international career spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Abhishek has had an international career spanning two decades and four continents. He has worked at some of the largest and reputable Fortune500 companies including JP Morgan, OMV AG, Natixis (BPCE France) and led a diverse team of talented and experienced commodity analysts worldwide. He has always enjoyed a hands-on, in-the-weeds approach to carry out a bottom-up fundamental and econometric analysis of energy markets and provided trade ideas and official price forecasts for the institutions he worked for. In collaboration with his team, he was responsible for publishing high-frequency flagship commodities reports as well as contributing to other significant cross-asset research publications. His responsibilities also included actively marketing the organization’s research views globally in person and advising clients on the latest developments in commodities. Abhishek has received several international awards in commodities and has been featured on several financial and mainstream media outlets such as CNN, BBC, Bloomberg, and CNBC.
