Course Overview

The purpose of this course is to provide students high content briefings from private sector companies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations that are leaders in international energy. In addition, for students who might want to work overseas or learn how to do energy related business overseas, this course could be very beneficial to finding employment.

  • Gain an understanding of the economics applied to global energy markets and the ability to analyze basic economic conditions for various energy resources
  • Explain the concept of economic externalities; identify reasons for market failure and non-market decisions.
  • Explain the relationship between energy use and climate change, and the basic economics of climate change policy
