2nd JPMCC International Commodities Symposium August 13-15, 2018

Following the success of the inaugural symposium in 2017, J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities (JPMCC) is organizing the second annual international commodities symposium in 2018 at University of Colorado Denver business school.

Keynote and Invited Speakers:

 

  • Jeffrey Frankel, James W. Harpel Professor of Capital Formation and Growth, Harvard University
  • James Hamilton, Robert F. Engle Professor of Economics, University of California at San Diego
  • Robert I. Webb, Paul Tudor Jones II Research Professor, University of Virginia
  • Policymakers (e.g., US Federal Reserve Board, Bank of Canada, US Energy Information Administration) and industry leaders (e.g., CME, J.P. Morgan, CoBank, Robert Bosch GmbH)

 

Program Committee

Submitted papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee, which is primarily composed of the JPMCC Research Council members. The Research Council members include distinguished scholars from Harvard, MIT, Yale, UC-Berkley and other world top universities, and industry leaders from Bosch GmbH, Bunge, CME Group, Encana Oil & Gas USA, J.P. Special Issue and Best Paper Award 

 

At the 2018 symposium, selected papers presented at the symposium may be considered for a special issue of Journal of Futures Markets (a leading finance journal specialized in futures and derivatives), which would go through the normal review process. The best paper award (with the prize of $2000) and the best discussant award (with the prize of $1000) for the 2018 symposium will be selected by a committee composed of distinguished scholars and industry leaders.

 

Conference Details

The objective is to bring together global thought leaders and prominent stakeholders in commodities to discuss their critical thinking and new research related to commodities. The focus will be on real-world relevance of research. The sessions will be limited to outstanding research, and comprise of both solicited and competitively selected papers.
