At only 15 credits, our business minors are easy to fit into your degree plan. Developed specifically for non-business majors at CU Denver, these minors have no pre-requisites and offer flexibility in required and elective courses. It’s an easy way to add business proficiency to your skill set while you pursue your passions at CU Denver.
Test the waters with the Introduction to Business course
BMIN/MGMT 1000 will provide you with an overview of business fundamentals and introduces topics like marketing, finance, management and communication. With this one course, you can gain valuable business skills before you commit to a business minor.
Daniel Raffield, ’19, added a business minor to his psychology degree to help him excel in his career. “I’ve ended up exactly where I wanted to be,” Daniel says. I work for a small consulting firm with big impacts, and I got here because of my business minor.”
Shane Stillmunkes, a senior double majoring in Communications and Fine Arts, added a business minor to give himself an edge in his career and help him with his photography business. “Through my business minor, I’ve also found a passion for all aspects of marketing,” Shane says. “It would be awesome if I could find a way to blend my marketing and photography skills into one career.”
Ha Tieu, a CU Denver public health alum, didn’t anticipate her path would lead her to working in Information Technology. Today, she’s an IT Support Specialist at a business communications company. “I think getting my business minor really did help me land my first job in IT out of college, which was with Charles Schwab.”
