Cuba Libre: Culture and Innovation

By visiting Havana, Vinales, and Trinidad, you will experience the richness of the Cuban culture and the beauty of its beaches and countryside while learning about the critical role entrepreneurship is playing in today’s emerging Cuban economy.
You will gain an understanding of the complex political and economic system of one of our closest neighbors as it tries to embrace normalized relations with the world's largest economy. You will visit the Cuban countryside, the University of Havana, a tobacco farm, and go on a walking tour of "The Old City". These trips will be wrapped around presentations by Cuban economists, entrepreneurs, and artists.
Scholarships are available to help defer up to 50% of the costs. You must be admitted into the course before applying for a scholarship. Information will be sent regarding the process.
Entrepreneurship in Barcelona
Includes: tuition and fees, shared accommodations, entrance fees, some meals, and international health and evacuation insurance
Not Included: International airfare, most meals, visa fees (~$250 for US citizens), and personal expenses

Join us in Barcelona to learn about international entrepreneurship in one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in Europe. Learn about Barcelona’s startup ecosystem from local entrepreneurs.
Potential business visits and events:
- Media-TIC building, an information and communication technology hub designed to incubate, generate, exhibit and invite new ideas and developments in information and communication technologies.
- Attend Grinder, a global startup community event designed to educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs.
- Connector, an accelerator in the heart of Barcelona’s L’Eixample district and learn what businesses face in the beginning stages.
You'll also be able to tour the Dali Museum, the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, Monserrat, and dip your toes in the Mediterranean.
London Calling

Gain high-level access to exciting global organizations in the sports and entertainment industry. Through visiting and talking with the industry elite outside of the U.S., you'll gain a broader perspective on the industry. Read pertinent articles before visits, keep a journal, and write a reflection paper at the end of your experience.

This is a unique international course of intensive study for undergraduate and graduate business and risk management students and serves as a distinctive immersion in the field of global risk management and insurance. In the first two weeks of class in Denver, you'll participate in a series of class lectures, presentations, and discussions. Then, you will travel to London, which is home to many of the world's largest insurers and reinsurers. Follow the insurance transaction from main street USA through the standard markets, surplus lines markets, and reinsurance markets.

Water-stressed regions of the world are in dire need of innovative solutions and partnerships to protect and restore water resources. This program will introduce you to the unique water resource challenges of cities and businesses in water-scarce regions of the world. You will also learn cutting-edge actions that the business community – in collaboration with civic and government sectors – can take to reduce their water demand and risks, reduce water footprints, and improve watershed health. You will learn the current theory and practice of water resource governance, business sustainability, and corporate water strategy. You will have the opportunity to hear from local businesses, government, and community leaders in Mexico who are collaborating to find innovative solutions to water scarcity challenges.

As a CU Denver Business School student, scholarships are available to you every semester. We offer program-specific and class-specific scholarships prior to each semester.
Scholarships
Our general scholarships are available to all Business School students. You can apply for the general Business School scholarships through Scholarship Universe. Requirements and award amounts are provided there.
The following programs offer scholarships for students enrolled in their courses (ENTP, CMDT, RISK) for that semester. You will need to apply for these scholarships through the programs separately.

Deadlines
Scholarship deadlines may vary depending on the scholarship. You will apply for spring scholarships in the fall semester, and fall scholarships in the spring semester. The program-specific scholarship deadlines vary. We recommend contacting the program directly for those deadlines.

Using Virtual Background in Zoom (while not in a meeting).

Become a brand advocate

All students are welcome to apply to become a brand advocate on our @cudenbusiness Instagram. We accept new students every semester and train you on how to use social media as a business tool.
Purpose: Share your story and pride in being a CU Denver Business School student through the school's Instagram account by posting stories
Benefits: Leadership experience, gain social media experience, learn about and work under CU in the City brand, and meet peers you wouldn't normally interact with.
Requirements: Post ~7 stories throughout the semester and respond to questions and messages
