Every other Monday during the semester, the Business School sends out a student newsletter called The Gist. As a current Business School student, you’re automatically signed up. This program will introduce you to European sustainable business challenges by engaging with companies throughout Madrid (Spain) and Strasbourg (France). You will be able to hear from local businesses, government, and European community leaders collaborating to find innovative solutions to environmental and societal challenges; learn cutting-edge actions the business community can take to reduce environmental risks and gain a competitive advantage; gain knowledge about the current theory and practice of sustainable business and strategic risk management. The interdisciplinary team course culminates with developing a client-facing business challenge.
Cuba: Culture and Innovation

By visiting Havana, Vinales, and Trinidad, you will experience the richness of the Cuban culture and the beauty of its beaches and countryside while learning about the critical role entrepreneurship is playing in today’s emerging Cuban economy.
You will gain an understanding of the complex political and economic system of one of our closest neighbors as it tries to embrace normalized relations with the world's largest economy. You will visit the Cuban countryside, the University of Havana, a tobacco farm, and go on a walking tour of "The Old City". These trips will be wrapped around presentations by Cuban economists, entrepreneurs, and artists.
Entrepreneurship in Barcelona

Join us in Barcelona to learn about international entrepreneurship in one of Europe's most beautiful and vibrant cities. Learn about Barcelona’s startup ecosystem from local entrepreneurs.
Potential business visits and events:
- Media-TIC building, an information and communication technology hub designed to incubate, generate, exhibit, and invite new ideas and developments in information and communication technologies.
- Attend Grinder, a global startup community event designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs.
- Connector, an accelerator in the heart of Barcelona’s L’Eixample district, and learn what businesses face in the beginning stages.
You can also tour the Dali Museum, the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, and Monserrat and dip your toes in the Mediterranean.
London: Risk Management & Insurance

This is a unique international course of intensive study for undergraduate and graduate business and risk management students and serves as a distinctive immersion in the field of global risk management and insurance. In the first two weeks of class in Denver, you'll participate in a series of class lectures, presentations, and discussions. Then, you will travel to London, home to many of the world's largest insurers and reinsurers. Follow the insurance transaction from main street USA through the standard markets, surplus lines markets, and reinsurance markets.
Professional MBAs in Panama

Students who participate in this course will get a first-hand look at this unique Latin American country through the lens of business and culture. Our group will visit the Panama Canal and witness this linchpin of international business in action. The Canal is an engineering marvel that connects close to 2,000 ports and transits over $270 billion of cargo annually. You will witness the Canal from a shipside view and learn about this critical infrastructure's history and current operations.
Business Insights and Cultural Delights in Munich and Prague

Embark on an unforgettable journey through the vibrant business landscapes of Munich and Prague in this immersive study abroad course. This unique experience is designed to provide a deep understanding of international business practices while offering a rich cultural immersion in two of Europe's most captivating cities.
CU Denver in England: London Calling

Students will visit organizations and talk with industry experts in London to gain a broader perspective on the Sports and Entertainment industry. This unique experience will explore how England's sports and entertainment world dealt with the devastating effects of COVID-19 restrictions. Students will be asked to do advanced preparation, participate in discussions, keep a journal, and write an analytic paper at the end of the experience. Possible site visits include the All England Lawn Tennis Club/Wimbledon, the Globe Theatre, Brighton Horse Races, Brighton Hove Albion Football Club, BT Sport, and a cricket stadium.
As a CU Denver Business School student, scholarships are available to you every semester. We offer program-specific and class-specific scholarships prior to each semester.
Scholarships
Our general scholarships are available to all Business School students. You can apply for the general Business School scholarships through Scholarship Universe. Requirements and award amounts are provided there.
The following programs offer scholarships for students enrolled in their courses (ENTP, CMDT, RISK) for that semester. You will need to apply for these scholarships through the programs separately.

Deadlines
Scholarship deadlines may vary depending on the scholarship. Scholarships will be working a semester ahead. Scholarships will be open to incoming students provided students have already matriculated/have access to Scholarship Universe before the indicated deadlines. Be sure to check the Scholarship Universe portal as one-off or private scholarships with later deadlines may be available.

All domestic students should fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year. The FAFSA determines what kind of financial aid you qualify for. Federal and CU Denver financial aid options include:

Using Virtual Background in Zoom (while not in a meeting).
- Click on one of the images below to get a full-sized version.

- Click your profile picture then click Settings.
- Click Virtual Background. Note: If you do not have the Virtual Background tab and you have enabled it on the web portal, sign out of the Zoom Desktop Client and sign in again.
- Add your own image by clicking + and choosing if you want to upload an image or video. Select the Milo image you want from your desktop.
- To disable Virtual Background, choose the option None.

- In a Zoom meeting click the ^ arrow next to Start/Stop Video.
- Click Choose a virtual background…
- Choose an image or add your own image by clicking + and choosing if you want to upload an image or video.
- To disable Virtual Background, choose the option None.
Pro Tips:
- Ensure that you are using a solid background color.
- After you select an option, that virtual background will display during your meetings.
- To disable Virtual Background, choose the option None.
