The Data Analytics Certificate provides graduate-level training in the fundamental tools and techniques of modern business analytics. Designed for degree-seeking and non-degree-seeking students, this 12-credit-hour certificate builds quantitative skills for data-driven decision-making through statistical methods, data management and programming tools, and predictive modeling, with hands-on experience using real-world data sets and business scenarios applicable across finance, healthcare, marketing, and operations.

Curriculum

The Data Analytics Certificate is earned independently, at the student’s request, through Grad Advising. The certificate requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and a grade of C or higher (not a C-) in each course. Completing this certificate guarantees admission to the MS in Business Analytics and AI.

Required courses:

  • BANA 6610 Statistics for Business Analytics
  • BANA 6620 Computing and AI for Business Analytics
  • ​BANA 6660 Predictive Analytics with AI and Machine Learning                                  

Complete 1 of the following:

  • BANA 6630 Time-Series Forecasting
  • BANA 6760 Data Visualization
  • BANA 6780 AI for Business
  • ​BANA 6910 Business Analytics Capstone

How to Apply

Admission to our post-bachelor certificates is open to recent non-business undergraduate graduates and professionals. Candidates must have graduated with a current cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (2.5 for Digital Marketing) or higher 

Applicants are required to submit all application materials, including the online application and copy of your degree-bearing transcripts. As an applicant, please complete the Graduate Non-Degree Admissions application and fill out the following on the Academic Interests page:

  4. Subplan: depends on your certificate
  5. Select the term you wish to start taking classes
