The FinTech Analyst Certificate equips professionals and students with graduate-level expertise in financial technology without committing to a full master's degree. Integrating financial theory, data analytics, and emerging technologies, the program develops analytical, quantitative, and technical skills through hands-on experience with blockchain, cryptocurrencies, AI and machine learning, computational finance, decentralized finance (DeFi), and algorithmic trading, preparing graduates for careers across financial institutions, FinTech startups, and technology-driven enterprises.
Curriculum
This 12-credit certificate can either be earned independently (at the student’s request to Grad Advising) or be a required and published element of the MS in FinTech. The certificate requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and a grade of C or higher (not a C-) in each course.
This certificate has a prerequisite of BUSN 6550 Analyzing and Interpreting Accounting Information (or a financial accounting course taken within the last 10 years with a grade of B- or higher). Students are also expected to be knowledgeable in spreadsheet software.
