This course introduces students to the fundamentals of risk and risk management for businesses and individuals. Corporate risk management techniques covered range from insurance to enterprise risk management. Personal risk discussed range from unemployment to retirement. RISK 4509: Global Risk Management

This course will explain how risk is transferred globally, through standard insurance markets, surplus lines markets, Lloyds of London and reinsurers. This course includes an optional visit to London during Spring Break through an application process.
RISK 4609: Claims Management

This course will provide an overview of the claims process in the Property and Casualty Insurance world. Students will learn about basic claims handling for personal and commercial claims as well as how to determine coverage and legal issues.
RISK 4809: Property & Casualty Insurance

RISK 4909: Corporate Risk Management

This course provides an overview of the corporate risk management process. It considers the ways companies identify their risk exposures, the tools used to measure and mitigate those exposures including the latest developments in alternative risk transfer, and ultimately, how risk management adds value to the firm. Prerequisite: RISK 3809, Corequisite: FNCE 3500 or instructor permission
RISK 4950: Data Governance, Risk & Ethics

Most businesses and organizations recognize that data is valuable, yet many don’t know what to do with their vast amounts of data. In this course, students will learn to recognize the roles and responsibilities of data stakeholders, understand data’s ethical, legal, fiscal, and strategic implications, plan and create ethical data governance / risk management programs, and understand how to manage, monitor, and measure the effectiveness of such programs.
