A Finance Minor complements a degree in math, humanities, economics, and various other degrees. With this minor, you’ll expand upon your specialized knowledge from your major and give yourself a competitive edge in the job market.
Curriculum (15 hours+ 4 possible prerequisites)
To complete the minor, you will take need to complete four prerequisites in math, business analytics, and economics. You will also need to complete five finance or accounting courses. Course topics include:
- Management of business capital
- Financial markets and institutions
- Corporate financial decisions
- Investment and portfolio management
Requirements
You must be an undergraduate CU Denver student with at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA and a 2.00 cumulative GPA in the Finance Minor to receive the minor. You must take 12 of the 15 of required business courses in the minor at CU Denver. If you’ve already taken the equivalent of one or more of these courses at another university, other high-level business courses may be substituted with the approval of the Business School.
