Scott Roswell has practiced law in the state of Colorado for over 30 years. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Colorado Denver, Scott was a guest speaker in the Risk Management & Insurance Program and provided instruction to many corporate clients on matters related to litigation, corporate law, ethics, and employment issues.

He has held various General Counsel/Chief Legal Officer titles with private and public companies in the Denver business communities.  He has gained significant industry experience in telecommunications, financial services, consumer product manufacturing/sales, and hard rock mining.  Additionally, Scott has practiced before the state and federal courts in Colorado and led complex litigation teams throughout the U.S.  His practice has included drafting and testifying in support of legislative and regulatory initiatives at the Colorado State House, U.S. Congress, and many state and federal agencies.

Contributing to his local community, Scott served two terms as a City Council representative, chaired the Planning & Zoning Board’s Master Plan review and update, and served on the Board of Adjustment & Appeals for zoning disputes and variance requests.  More recently, Scott was appointed by the Governor’s office to the Department of Regulatory Agency’s oversight of electric contractors on the Colorado State Electrical Board.

A graduate of the University of Colorado – Boulder Leeds School of Business and the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Scott and his family are longtime residents of Colorado.  In addition to providing course room instruction, Scott advises the Business School’s Beta Mu Chapter of the professional Risk Management service fraternity Gamma Iota Sigma.  Outside of the Business School, you can frequently find Scott enjoying outdoor activities, including skiing, hiking, camping, and sailing.
