Dr. Emre Ulusoy is a marketing faculty member at the CU Denver Business School, where he teaches Consumer Behavior and International Marketing. His research examines the sociocultural, philosophical, and technological dimensions of consumption, marketing, and markets, with particular interests in subcultures, identity, consumer resistance, music consumption, market co-optation, cultural fragmentation, sustainability, ethical consumption, food systems, emerging technologies, and veganism. His scholarship has appeared in journals including the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Consumer Culture, Marketing Theory, Journal of Macromarketing, Consumption, Markets & Culture, and the Journal of Marketing Management. With more than 16 years of teaching and research experience, he brings an interdisciplinary perspective and a strong commitment to critical thinking, experiential learning, inclusive teaching, and globally relevant education.

Research

Dr. Ulusoy's research explores the relationships among consumption, culture, identity, ideology, technology, and markets. His current interests include consumer subcultures and resistance, sustainable and ethical consumption, veganism and alternative food practices, emerging food technologies, consumer identity, market co-optation, and macromarketing. Ongoing projects examine technology-driven food prosumption and cooperativism, the mobilization of subcultures into social movements, consumer resistance, sustainable consumption and public policy, veganism, and the evolving relationship between subcultures and markets.
