Jon Mertz spent 25 years in high-tech business leadership, including helping guide a company from startup to industry leader. He holds an Ed.D. from Creighton University, where his research examined how leaders exercise moral courage while navigating the tensions between profit and purpose. Before joining the University of Colorado Denver Business School, Jon founded the University of New Mexico Center for Responsible Entrepreneurship in Santa Fe — New Mexico's first social entrepreneur accelerator.
His career spans brand, business, and product strategy leadership roles across technology startups and large enterprises—including Corepoint Health, Deloitte, IBM, and QuickArrow — consistently driving growth through strategic change and innovation.
