David Beverly, DBA, is a senior instructor of finance at the University of Colorado Denver Business School. He brings a multidisciplinary background in finance, technology, and investment management to the classroom, with a particular focus on connecting financial theory to practical applications.
Before entering academia full-time, David Beverly worked in the financial industry as a director of investment operations. Earlier in his career, he worked in software and technology, an experience that continues to shape his interest in the intersection of finance, data, and technology. His teaching interests include investments, corporate finance, financial modeling, and financial technology, and he incorporates tools such as Excel and Python to help students develop practical analytical and decision-making skills.
Prior to joining CU Denver, Beverly was an assistant teaching professor of finance at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. At UMSL, he taught undergraduate and graduate finance courses and served as faculty advisor to the Student Investment Trust, a student-managed investment fund that grew to more than $1 million. His research interests include financial technology, behavioral finance, and how technology can improve financial analysis and decision-making.
