Hengqi Tian is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems. Her primary research interests are digital innovation and artificial intelligence (AI). In particular, her current research focuses on digital product innovations in the mobile app context and ground truth data labeling for AI development in professional judgment contexts, such as medical diagnosis of mental disorders. She uses both quantitative and qualitative research methods, including machine learning, econometrics, experiments, qualitative comparative analysis (QCA), and case studies, among others. She has published her work in journals, such as Information and Management and Internet Research, and presented at conferences such as the Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting and the Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS). She won the Best Student Paper award in the Organizational Communication and Information Systems (OCIS) Division of AOM in 2021. Prior to joining the University of Colorado Denver, Hengqi Tian worked as a postdoctoral researcher for two years at the Swedish Center for Digital Innovation, Umeå University.
