As an Instructor at the School of Business, Steve concentrates on the internal applications of financial data. He offers students a unique value proposition by leveraging his nearly three decades of hands-on experience, particularly with organizations facing financial difficulties. This experience allows him to integrate real-world scenarios into the academic environment, enhancing students' understanding of effectively using timely and accurate financial information for improved decision-making.
Before he retired from the industry in 2019, Steve dedicated 17 years to serving as a founding member and chief operating officer of an opportunistic investment firm based in Denver, Colorado. He is a licensed CPA (Texas) and holds several professional designations, including Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and the AICPA’s Certified Financial Forensics (CFF) certificate. Additionally, Steve is a United States Air Force veteran, having completed 12 years of service in both active duty and reserve capacities.
