For-credit certificates are often used as a starting point for a business degree or to receive more formal accreditation in a specific area. We offer a number of different options depending on where you are in your education. A post-bachelor certificate is a great way to sample graduate courses before committing to a graduate degree.
Our post-bachelor certificates are intended to give anyone with an undergraduate degree in any discipline access to graduate business courses. These certificates can help you grow in your current job or give you the knowledge to launch your own company. Should you decide to pursue a graduate degree, these courses are for credit and fully transferable.
General Business Certificate
This certificate is offered to students or professionals who want to get a head start on their academic careers without the commitment of a full graduate program. By completing this certification, you will be able to waive the GMAT score from your application should you decide to pursue a Professional MBA at CU Denver.
Bioinnovation Certificate
This Bioinnovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate provides students the opportunity to gain insight into the rapidly growing field of bioinnovation. Taking advantage of the incredible Colorado biocluster, in collaboration with faculty at Anschutz Medical Campus, this certificate is one-of-a-kind and geared toward helping bioentrepreneurs achieve commercial success.
Commodities Graduate Certificate
Students learn to navigate commodity markets and broaden their financial acumen through this online, non-degree certificate.
Cybersecurity and Information Assurance Certificate
This certificate places particular emphasis on the use of tools and technologies for information assurance rather than on design and development of protocols to secure an enterprise infrastructure.

Entrepreneurship Certificate
This three-course undergraduate certificate is intended for non-degree students who want to expand their business knowledge and give themselves a competitive advantage when they enter the workforce.
Global Energy Management Certificate
This certificate provides you with the opportunity to broaden your understanding of the worldwide energy marketplace. You can tailor learning into specific areas of interest and skills such as geo-economics, policy, financial management, and leadership. Coursework and assignments are focused 100% on the energy industry provide practical skills and knowledge that can be applied immediately.
Risk Management and Insurance Certificate
By completing four semester-long risk management courses, you will be on your way to enhancing your personal knowledge and providing your employer with RMI awareness and professional skills. This certificate can be completed entirely online.
Social Enterprise Certificate
Courses in this certificate build students’ abilities to design and launch successful businesses that are responsive and sensitive to social needs, equity and justice, and human well-being. They are offered online, with many face-to-face options.
Urban Sustainability and Infrastructure Certificate
Cities are the most rapidly growing regions globally. They must be designed collaboratively with public, private, and civic sectors to make them more sustainable. This certificate is designed for aspiring business leaders who plan to engage or collaborate with the public and civic sector to make our cities more just, livable, and sustainable through urban design, infrastructure planning, land use, and other urban sustainability concepts—offered face-to-face only.
Risk Management & Resilience Certificate
Courses in this certificate introduce students to the concepts of risks, hazards, exposure, and resilience. Students will learn how to successfully manage and lead a company through periods of volatility, complexity, uncertainty, and ambiguity typical of many sustainability and environmental challenges. Offered online, with some face-to-face options
Environmental Sustainability Certificate
This certificate introduces students to the various environmental challenges (e.g., water and natural resources, climate change, environmental waste, and pollution) that companies face. Courses in this certificate will teach students how to manage and report on a company’s environmental performance and how to develop sustainable and regenerative business practices to protect, restore, and improve our natural environments and resources—offered online, with many face-to-face options.
Sustainable Energy Certificate
Courses in this certificate introduce students to the key concepts for understanding and managing renewable energy resources and how to lead the global energy transition to renewable energy. Offered primarily online with some in-person options.
Managing for Sustainability Certificate
Courses in this certificate train students to launch and lead strategic initiatives in their enterprises that improve social and environmental outcomes and build sustainable enterprises that thrive in any business environment. Offered online only.
Foundations of Sustainable Business Certificate
Courses in this certificate introduce the foundational knowledge and concepts for success in any sustainable business career. You’ll be able to compare and contrast competing conceptualizations of sustainable business models, redesign supply chains and products for waste reduction and circularity, set and achieve net-zero carbon targets, apply and report using various sustainability disclosure standards, manage and lead innovative sustainability initiatives and projects, and be aware of various impact investment strategies.
How to Apply
Admission to our post-bachelor certificates is open to recent non-business undergraduate graduates and professionals. Candidates must have graduated with a current cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (2.5 for Digital Marketing) or higher
Applicants are required to submit all application materials, including the online application and copy of your degree-bearing transcripts. As an applicant, please complete the Graduate Non-Degree Admissions application and fill out the following on the Academic Interests page:

Our undergraduate certificates are intended to help anyone with a high school diploma expand his or her business knowledge. You do not need to have completed an undergraduate degree by the time of admission. You can also be enrolled at a different university and still receive this certificate. Undergraduate credit can be earned as a part the certificate and could count towards your undergraduate degree at another university.
How to Apply
Admission to our post-graduate certificates is open to any professional who has completed his or her MBA or MS degree from any AACSB accredited business school. Candidates must also have graduated with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Applicants are required to submit all application materials including the online application and copy of your degree bearing transcripts. As an applicant, please fill the online application out as the following for the Academic Interests page:
